Tony Strak wasn't elected by the people either. He was appointed by Maria Hil. The word you used was "appointed", and the tyrants and despots that I listed were appointed in one way or another. And Hitler had the backing of the majority of the German people. Does that make him right?

And I know you can't compare comics to the real tragedy of Nazi Germany, but we are deabting ideas here, and just because Tony was "appointed" doesn't make him right.

Darkhawk and Spidey risk their lives to save the citizens' of the MU's sorry asses "errday". Your car? He just risked life and limb to save YOUR LIFE. LOL.

I think Pete deserves to sit back (on his aching back) after a long day of being Spidey, have a brewski and screw MJ.

lol! Vlad the Impaler!, Idi Amin!, Saddam Hussein?! Elected?!! BWAAHAHAA!!
Try again contestant # 3!
None of those guys dealt with a democracy,or were elected, they all took control by force, Tony Stark was offered and accepted a job, paycheck, benefits, etc.
SuperHeroes (as much as I love them) are ALL vigilantes doing millions of dollars in damage, to people and property and walking away lke they were supposed to do it, Spiderman punches some random guy in the face sends him to the hospital, takes his MASK off, and rushes home to watch Grey's Anatomy with his hot wife? c'mon dude that's not his job, or even his business really, that's why cops don't wear masks, and if they go overboard, they show up at court to explain what happened, if Darkhawk decides to fight Hydro-Man on my block and my car is damaged Darkhawk does'nt hang around to make sure I can get to work, does he?

Vlad the Impaler, Hitler, Saddam Hussein and idi Amin were duly elected, too. However, history will be on the side of anyone who opposes or takes ddown someone who is just wrong.

However, you had me cracking up with Hulk taking the time off of an asskicking agenda, to tangle with one of the most powerful groups on earth, just to ask PX a question. "Uh, do you like me? Check the 'yes' box if you do, 'no' if you don't."

oh yeah before I forget. Tim? Tony Stark is a Hero my man....you got to shake that vigilante mind set and work with your duly appointed law enforcers. Thats the problem with trying to make your super hero comic books "real life", super heros actully are guilty of assault, battery, destruction of private property etc, etc, blah blah, blah. Now what they did to Bruce Banner was cowardly and illegal, but the spirit behind it I guess was what drove them, that or the editors - take your pick, but he manned up and took his licks behind it.

pro-reg all the way (if we're going to continue down this road)

Derek-
I have to start by saying I'm a fan and I listen to you guys every chance i get, I've never responded to a 'cast but felt compelled this time, I think you guys are off the mark on your review of the World War Hulk/X-men I think anyway. I purchased all of the books reviewed except Frontline and Ghost Rider and I'm enjoying the hell out of our story so far, I even enjoyed the Heroes for Hire issue as I like seeing second string characters givena chance, Humbug, a fourth stringer at best steps into the light and I'd like to see where they take him as a character. Anyway my problem with WWH/X-men is this: this book was an obvious ploy by Marvel to include their flagship characters in the current major crossover. Maybe my problem lies in the storyline but c'mon dude the Hulk takes time out of his busy ass schedule destroying the world to ask Prof X. who had nothing to do with his situation mind you, "Well if you were there, what would you have said". I literally deflated when i read that. Who cares? He could have asked him are you Republican or Democrat? and it would have had the same effect. Same as the Hulk stopping me in the street and saying I know you were'nt there but what would you have said". what a cop-out, at best a weak attempt to re-visit the "Whose side are you on?" tag line from civil war still fresh in so many minds. Even a simple "Dude I really need to ask you a question" would have been better than a sense less fight. I would have written it as simply the Hulk is threating the world / state i live in or whatever and dispatched the X-Men to try to diffuse/ stop the Hulk if possible- hell they can't stop the Juggernaut in a well written story......anyway those are my thoughts on this book, I'm curious to see the resolution, because really the X-Men cannot stop a truly out-raged Hulk.....

always listening
