Indie Comic Book Noise 222: Derek Loves Miracleman

January 28th, 2009 by Derek | Filed under Indie Comic Book Noise.

In a rare episode where Derek actually loves something, hosts Angie Paman and Derek Coward talk about jobs, job searches, injuries, the Miracleman rights entanglement, dropped connections, dogs, shownotes, football, new schedules and short term memory something or another, I can’t remember.

Great show guys… I’m a bit of a toy guy so I have some Mighty Muggs but I don’t collect every one just the ones I like. As for the ones I have I only have 1 Marvel one which you can see at the link below but I do get a few of the star wars ones which I’ll have pictures of soon.

For a show called Indie Comic Book Noise there is a definitive lack of talk about indie comics, but that’s okay because it’s Derek’s show and I enjoy hearing Derek talk about whatever he wants to talk about. Intersting talk about the legal entanglements with Miracle Man. That is a shame people can’t get their heads out of their asses and do something with the character. Also, I collect some toys. Most of them are DC Comics action figures. Mainly the DCU Classics, DC Infinite Heroes and some Justice League Unlimited. I also have a Boba Fett and an Indiana Jones Mighty Mugg. I enjoy the Mighty Muggs quite a lot and it is a shame there wont be any DC ones. Something to do with exclusive licensing agreements for the comic book characters with Marvel is my guess. But there are other lines of vinyl toys similar in style to the Mighty Muggs that could be good candidates for DC characters. Or you could get blank Mighty Muggs from the Hasbro website and paint them yourself or get an artist friend to. I am planning on getting Ryan King to repaint an Indiana Jones into The Question for me.

Thanks for listening Eric. The show is an exercise in meta-humor.

The show is titled Indie Comic Book Noise because it is independent of the other Comic Book Noise show that I do, which is so rigidly structured and bound by corporate restraints. This is a much more loose flowing conversation, but we always try to fit some sort of comic book talk in there.

Plus, that’s why we have Bruce, he gets so indie that most people don’t even know what he’s talking about. :)

Besides according the single iTunes review that we received, we are a boring show only deserving of one star (probably because they don’t have the ability to assign no stars).
