From The League of Comic Book Podcasters: Kryptographik Episode 30

Kryptographik is a trans-continental podcast featuring Brian (in the U.S.) and Damian (in Australia), providing news, reviews, commentary and interviews covering horror, dark fantasy and science-fiction.

In our 30th episode, we’re joined by Barry Nugent (in the U.K.) from the Geek Syndicate podcast to discuss his how his novel FALLEN HEROES started out being self-published through Lulu.com and has since been optioned for adaptations into both a graphic novel and a TV series.

We also discuss how and why changes are made when stories are adapted to other media, past and upcoming adaptations of Sherlock Holmes, and our opinions about The War of the Worlds (starring Tom Cruise) and Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

The Problem with having multiple podcasts

One of the drawbacks to having multiple podcasts is the higher possibility for error when posting them to the server or the RSS feed. Yesterday’s upload of Indie Comic Book Noise was incomplete and I didn’t catch it until today. So you will have to redownload yesterday’s show to get the missing 18 minutes.

Today, I uploaded the Halloween episode of Movie Noise to the server. I also mistakenly added it to the Comic Book Noise family feed. This isn’t a bonus episode like the time I put the Serenity review in the feed. It was just the product of doing too much at the same time. Listen to it anyway, it is me and Brian from Kryptographik talking in depth about Wolf Creek. I think it ranks as one of the best episodes I have done.

Comic Book Noise 130: Black Summer 0 And 1 With Brian And Damian

Did anybody else read this miniseries from Avatar Press? I did and I talk about it on the latest episode of Comic Book Noise with Brian Matus and Damian Smith from the Kryptographik podcast. At least we tried to talk about the series. After 90 minutes we only covered the first two issues. But in the meantime, we touched upon politics, the legalization of narcotics and the correlation with raising children, the mechanics of language, global economies, religious imagery in scenes of mayhem and of course puppies and children.

Actually the part about puppies and children was left on the cutting room floor but the rest is there.
