Just Wondering Something…

Why is there no podcast devoted to The Incredible Hulk? The guy has been able to sustain hundreds of comic book issues, several dozen miniseries and trades, a couple of television shows and two major studio films, but no one has thought to do a podcast talking about him? The closest thing that I know about was the  series of World War Hulk shows that I hosted with Tim Terrell a few years ago. Since then, nothing.

If it is a case of not knowing (or wanting to know) how to deal with RSS Feeds, uploading, maintaining a forum, website administration or all the rest of the rigmarole, then I would be more than happy to host the show on The ReaderFeed until the host got their feet wet enough to go off on their own.

The ReaderFeed shows have been gaining a bit of notoriety. Matt Kramer’s The Shade’s Journal got him a mention in the latest Starman Omnibus and Welcome To Heavenside’s Damian Smith was recently featured on Avatar Press’s website. I’m sure that a lot of that has to do with the fact that they are the only podcasts devoted to those subjects.

If somebody else doesn’t jump on this, then I might have to go out and start buying up some Incredible Hulk books and do it myself. Or maybe I should just start with some miniseries from the past then take it from there.

This week’s schedule will be filled with holes

There might be shows this week, but I’m not sure what they will be. I am positive that there will not be a new Indie Comic Book Noise, Marvel Noise, Geek Brunch, DC Noise, Comics Playground, Rocky Mountain Comic Book Noise, Welcome to Heavenside, Mage: The Hero Discussed, PPRD or The Fury of Iron Fist.

I’m not sure about Comic Book Noise, Burning Trash, The Shade’s Journal, The Number One Comic Book Show or Comic Book Noise Talks, but I am leaning towards probably not.

I was going to do a mad rush of podcasts like I seem to do every end of the year, but since I have already reached Episode 150, I have nothing to shoot for. I think it would be impossible for even me to do 48 episodes in three days.

So use this time to catch up on older shows, check out our cousins The Trip, Eye Of The Storm or Teenage Wasteland or check out Friends of the Family like Collected Comics Library, Komicskast, Comic Book Attic, Comic Book Savant, 11 O Clock Comics, Comic Geek Speak, Raging Bullets, Geek Syndicate, Comics Addiction, THOOM, Comic Book Road Show, DaFixer’s Hideout, Podcast X, Comic Timing or The Pop Cult Online. I’m pretty sure that they make podcasts that don’t deal with comic books but I’m not sure.

Most of all, sit back and relax. We’ll be back to a regular schedule pretty soon.

UPDATE: The Shade’s Journal will definitely be posted on Monday.

UPDATE 2: According to host Eric Martin, DC Noise will definitely be posted on Friday.

Comic Book Noise 130: Black Summer 0 And 1 With Brian And Damian

Did anybody else read this miniseries from Avatar Press? I did and I talk about it on the latest episode of Comic Book Noise with Brian Matus and Damian Smith from the Kryptographik podcast. At least we tried to talk about the series. After 90 minutes we only covered the first two issues. But in the meantime, we touched upon politics, the legalization of narcotics and the correlation with raising children, the mechanics of language, global economies, religious imagery in scenes of mayhem and of course puppies and children.

Actually the part about puppies and children was left on the cutting room floor but the rest is there.
